A chair, a window, sixty minutes a day without a lit screen, and a short list of things to do in them so the mind keeps its edge.
We make seats in a shed in Cabo de Santo Agostinho, on the coast of Pernambuco in Brazil. Customers rarely ask us how a chair is made. They ask where it should go. Over the years our answer has turned into a small routine, and this section writes it down in English for anyone who has passed fifty and noticed that the quiet part of the day keeps getting crowded out.
There is one long piece and four short pages. Read the long one first; the short ones are there for when you want the method at a glance, a definition, or the facts about who is behind the writing.
The company's own page in English is the shed, room by room. The original company site is in Portuguese: ver em português.
